Dora the Explorer

So my cousin asked me to make a Dora cake for her daughter's 5th birthday... I wasn't sure how I was going to complete this task so I did a few Google searches for ideas. I stumbled across what is called a buttercream transfer. This was definitely a learning experience!! (next time I should start with an easier picture).

Step 1: draw picture backwards

Step 2: Outline the drawing with butter cream icing
(TIP: make all of your colors ahead of time... that was something I didn't do and it took forever!)

Step 3: Which I started above... Fill in the image with your colors.

Step 4: After your image is all filled in then cover the entire thing with the same color as your cake so it blends well. Now... stick it in the freezer!

Poof... here is the final product. (I need to invest in smaller letter cutouts as regular cookie cutters are much too large for this type of project)
